Merritt Grothe comes from a long line of creatives.  Her grandfather, Forrest Ames was a detailed carpenter, her mother, an interior designer and her father, a contractor and craftsman.  Inventing her own beautiful spaces is something that she has always been passionate about and over the years, initially helping just  friends and family do the same. 

Founded by Merritt, Forrest Ames is a Denver-based boutique firm specializing in residential and small business space design.  Forrest Ames offers a fun and wholistic approach to the design process by working in partnership with the client and acting as a liaison with architects, contractors and vendors. Merritt’s detailed and creative process is consistent throughout, from initial discovery and conceptual ideas, to execution of design, purchasing of products and installation.  Clients will find their finished, functional spaces pulled together with personality and warmth and a beautiful reflection of their individual style.
